We are a bereavement group for the whole area of Southend and beyond. There’s me (Barbara), Sally, Maureen, Marjorie and Georgean the wonderful volunteers. Then there is Karen Britter the Therapist and Sally Lands our Counsellor.
We are open to all who are bereaved and will always (while funding lasts) have a counsellor and a therapist on hand for you to chat to.
Our St Augustine’s meetings will have either a speaker, a quiz or games as well as the support on offer, where you can sit at small tables with other members and chat over refreshments.
We have a free raffle at both meetings and members very kindly bring in unwanted gifts for this.
The Balmoral Meetings are more designed to talk about problems and solutions while we sit around one big table and share our thoughts and feelings, but you can still have a private one to one with our counsellor or therapist.
You are more than welcome to attend both groups if you prefer that to just one venue and you can make suggestions as to what you would like to discuss or talk about.
We go on a yearly coach trip which is chosen by the members and usually takes place in May or June. We also have a Strawberry Tea and a Christmas Party during the year.
